You can follow steps 1-3 above to create a component, come back later and edit it, then do step 4 to add it into your template. But I suspect what you are looking to do is to create a link to a Biography page... The easiest way to do that would just be to create a category called Biography, then post an article to that category and don't enter anything in the Excerpt input box and don't check Automatically generate excerpt. Now your Biography category will consist of your one article in full text form.
